Ancillary Task Photoshoot

These are some of the photos I took for my ancillary tasks from my last set of filming on the weekend. I have taken the images against a brick wall used in my filming so that my album cover and magazine poster link directly to my music video and can be easily identified with my audience.

Latest News On Katy B...

I found this article online about the release of Katy B's new Album: Katy on a Mission. The article is dated April 3rd 2011.

"Dance music is all too often associated with faceless divas – catchy anthems, soaring voices, no real trace of personality.
Then occasionally, you get refreshing exceptions – such as south London dubstep-pop starlet Katie Brien. She first snagged mainstream consciousness on Magnetic Man’s exhilarating single Perfect Stranger, before scoring solo attention with Katy On A Mission – a taut tune that ricocheted across club nights, radio and ringtones.
Both of those 2010 hits are highlights of Brien’s first album but overall it’s clear why she’s been championed by pirate station-turned-talent stable Rinse FM: she combines homey charisma with slick ambition and is not cowed by genre constraints.
What makes On A Mission such  a winning debut is its combination of Brien’s sweet and sussed songwriting (she’s essentially a modern romantic with attitude) and vivaciously innovative producers including Magnetic Man’s Benga, Rinse boss Geeneus and Benny Ill. Her vocals withstand mighty levels of sub-bass yet sound naturally poppy.
The tracks are also brilliantly sequenced, from the assertive opener Power On Me to the Latin-tinged electro of Why You Always Here (recalling classic Basement Jaxx) and the ravey dancehall fusion of Lights On (with Ms Dynamite). Brien makes dance worlds collide without seeming try-hard. She’s made an album of its time, and it’s one to remember."

New Filming

I have decided that I am not happy with my final music video so far and feel I can do a lot better. I have book the camera and my model for this saturday to do some last minute filming looking at different camera angles and more lip syncing to camera. I also want to re design and take more images for my ancillary task, so that they match the footage and are of better quality than what I have completed so far. Even though these big changes are last minute and only give me four days to get everything edited and complete and redo my evaluation I feel I am determined to do it and do it well, without my work looking rushed and to produce an overall high quality product that I am proud of.

I am thinking about filming my model outside as the weather is good at the moment against my cream garage door as it is a single colour and won't distract my audience to the background but will keep them focused on my model.

I am also going to do some more filming in my local town Bishops Stortford of my model and her friend in a natural environment and relaxed. I am thinking about filming down some streets walking and talking.
