Half Term Plan

We have now made a group decision that over half term we will each take the camera for 3 days so that we are all filmimg our own ideas and that overall we have a lot of filming to work from and edit with. Also it is a good way of equally all putting the same amount of work in and that every one's ideas are being used.

After half term we plan to begin editing the footage we have and then begin to plan a group shoot one weekend to film any new footage that we need.

A music video we have looked at that has given us inspiration for this is 'John Legend - Ordinary People'. This is because the video focuses on different couples and scenes in between the artist singing. We want to try an incorporate this idea with our video with each member of our group filming different scenes and then putting them together between the lip syncing shots.

Get ahead Media Studies OCR

Today we were shown the media studies get ahead blog. We were also shown an example of a high grade final music video. It has given us a boost to get our idea's flowing and to think about adding some lip syncing so that its more of a music video than narrative. We want to try and make sure we are constantly updating our blogs and developing our ideas so that our final product is of high quality.

For todays lesson we will begin brainstorming our idea's for our story board and get the ball rolling!

Inspiration!

Looking through different music videos that fit our genre on YouTube, I have found some videos that I want to use some of techniques used in our music video.

'Sia - Breathe Me'

I like the idea's of layering Polaroid pictures to create a moving film, i think this is an interesting technique and one that our group would like to try and recreate in parts of our music video.

'A Team - Ed Sheeran'

I really like this music video its simple yet it tells a story. The camera angles used are interesting and the technique of having constant movement around the girl while she is still is very effective. I also really like how the video is in black and white and shot at night so that the lights can be seen.

New Song From Recording

After recording our orignial chosen song our artist prepared a song that she thought sounded better and that we would like. We recoreded the song and listen back to all the audio we had recorded and all agreed that the new song was of a better quality and had good imagery and still slotted in witht he genre we wanted to work on.
The new song we are going to use is 'Pink - I Don't Believe You'.

Recording Audio

Wednesday 6th October:
Today we recorded the audio for our music video, we met our friend and recorded our original song we wanted to do 'Hide and Seek' as well as a song our friend had prepared that she felt we would like. This was 'Pink - I Don't Believe You'. We all agreed that we like the song and the way it sounded when we played back the audio. We are now going to look at both songs and their lyrics to see which has the best imagery and the one that we feel would be better for our music video.

New song idea

After looking into song choices we have decided upon another song that fits our genre and has good imagery. The song is 'Hometown Glory' by Adele.

Here are the lyrics for the song and our own ideas if we were to shoot this as our music video:

Hide and Seek - Imogen Heap

The song we have chosen to look at is 'Hide and Seek' by Imogen Heap, below is the original music video for the song:

Here are the lyrics for the song and our filming ideas:

Getting Started

Today we have got into our groups for our new coursework project; music video's.
We have began initially planning our genre of music we want to work with and have been browsing YouTube for inspiration.
We have come across a song that we all really like and think that it has a lot of imagery we can work on. The song is called Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap, which one our friends has performed to the school quite a few times, therefore we want to use her version so that we are using non-copyrighted music.
Between now and our next lesson we will be contacting her to see if she would like to be involved in our music video.
